Ruddy Darter Sympetrum sanguineum
 
Identification: Black legs. Male has a 'waisted', blood red abdomen with dark sides. Very small orange patch at the base of the wings.
Information: Distribution: England, Wales and Ireland. July to October.
Similar species: Common Darter.
