Redshank Tringa totanus
 
Identification: Red legs and base to the bill. Grey-brown upperparts and streaked underparts. In flight white rump and white trailing edge to the wing are distinctive.
Information: Distribution: common resident throughout the British Isles, numbers increase in winter.
Similar species: Spotted Redshank is much rarer.
