Mountain Hare Lepus timidus
 
Identification: Mainly white tail and uniform brown body colour. Smaller than Brown Hare. Concave bridge of nose makes the head look more 'lightweight' than Brown Hare.
Information: Distribution: Northern England, Scotland and Ireland. White winter coat unmistakeable.
Similar species: Rabbit, Brown Hare.
