Identification: Large hair-less ears. Thick-set scaly tail. Grey-brown fur - not shaggy. Pointed snout.
Information: Distribution: widspread and common throughout the British Isles.
Similar species: Black Rat Rattus rattus is very uncommon and has thinner tail, larger eyes and ears and a shaggy coat.
