Brown Hawker Aeshna grandis
Identification: This is a large brown dragonfly. In flight amber coloured wings. At rest two yellow bars on the thorax on a brown dragonfly.
Information: Distribution: southern Britain and Ireland. Usually June to September.
Similar species: Norfolk Hawker is paler with clear wings and only occurs in the Norfolk Broads.
