Bar-tailed Godwit Limosa lapponica
Identification: Long legs and long straight bill(slightly upturned). Winter plumage uppers are grey-brown with dark feather centres. In flight plain wings and barred tail. Summer plumage has orange neck, breast and belly without barred flanks.
Information: Distribution: winter visitor and passage migrant to coastal British Isles.
Similar species: Black-tailed Godwit. has longer tibias.
